Welcome To Digital Links

Digital Links is a social enterprise that provides IT equipment and solutions for education, small businesses and health units in the world’s poorest areas.

Digital Links brings the best technology available worldwide to disadvantaged communities at an affordable cost. Technology can provide incredible opportunities for improved health, education, and economic growth.

Through partnership with multinationals, corporations, governments and civil society actors, Digital Links have provided over 65,000 computers to schools, hospitals and NGOs across Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe. Your business can help provide technology solutions for development.

The Digital Links model offers a practical solution to the needs of developing countries, but also to the UK environmental challenge of e-waste. Every year, in the UK alone, 3 million PCs will end up in landfill. To create just one PC takes 1.8 tons of raw materials (about the weight of a rhino!). Donating to Digital Links helps to make sure that computers are used to their maximum capacity.

Computers donated in the UK are refurbished to the highest standard in accordance with UK environmental and data protection legislation, ensuring optimal reuse and limiting strain on world resources.

Through innovative partnerships with manufacturers, governments and financial institutions, Digital Links can also provide new computers and IT equipment enabling low income groups to gain access to the best equipment available at a significantly reduced cost.

Since its creation in 2002, over 1.5 million people have gained their first access to IT through Digital Links.

For the next five years, and through strong private-public partnerships, Digital Links intends to make a significant difference to the education and business landscape in Africa by supporting the deployment of hardware and learning materials in schools. We also encourage the growth of viable small and medium businesses by tapping into the potential of new technologies.
