Digital Links works in a diverse range of countries that each have their own issues that must be considered if a computerisation programme is to be successful. A lack of access to electricity and telecommunications infrastructure means that producing a practical, low cost, sustainable computerisation project can be a challenge. We are always looking to address these challenges with creative, innovative solutions.
We are happy to discuss the individual requirements of organisations that are interested in incorporating solar technology into their ICT projects. We can work with them to develop a bespoke system that fits their particular needs.
We also have experience of using 802.11b wireless technology and a VSAT satellite connection to bring shared connectivity in rural areas. This approach has been piloted in Sierra Leone, and has proved to be very successful.
Digital Links is the first organisation of it’s kind to look at the end-of-life disposal of computers from Africa. The system will involve recycling the majority of the equipment locally, and re-exporting the hazardous materials back to Europe. The system is currently being piloted in Ghana, but we intend to extend it to all of our distribution partners shortly.
