At Digital Links, education is the primary focus of all aspects of our work. The majority of our computers are used in schools in the developing world, and in the a UK a major aspect of our role is to promote recycling and reuse in schools.
Information and Certificates for UK Schools
An important part of our role in the UK is to promote recycling and raise awareness of development issues such as the 'digital divide'. This is also a key element in our offering to donor schools, which is why we receive a large number of donations from schools and Local Authorities.
We supply certificates to all donor schools detailing the number of people that have benefited from the donation, and the amount of waste that has been diverted from landfill as a result.
We can also supply text for websites and newsletters, and have a large stock of photos available, as well as a short DVD. In addition, we have designed information sheets which help teachers to educate pupils on the need to reduce, reuse and recycle, as well as informing pupils and parents about why donating computers was an important and positive choice for school to make. These are available to download here:

We are also happy to help facilitate partnerships with schools overseas, we could even help to link your school with a school that has your old computers.
Education in the Developing World
The vast majority of our computers are sent to schools in developing countries. Old computers that are donated through Digital Links invariably end up on the desk of a school in Africa, where the impact they have on the lives of the schoolchildren is profound. They open up a whole new world of educational opportunities; provide access to news and information; offer a reliable method of communication; and provide the computer skills so essential in today's world. In addition, our model ensures that training is provided for teachers, which is a vital element of a successful computerisation programme.
