The Digital Pipeline

Digital Links is an founding member of the Digital Pipeline. Digital Pipeline is an initiative supported by Microsoft which aims to get more European companies to donate computer equipment for schools in developing countries.  It is unique in requiring donors to pay for the full recycling costs and for a recycling bounty to ensure that there are funds to pay for the eventual recycling of computers sent to developing countries. It also offers a sophisticated online tracking tool that allows donor companies to see exactly where their donated equipment is being used.

Digital Pipeline works through partners who meet their strict ethical and quality standards. Their partners include commercial computer refurbishers and recyclers who ensure all PCs are processed to the highest standard. Computers are deployed through experienced technology charities who ensure that computers are correctly distributed and accompanied by training and support. Digital Links is the largest deployment partner for Digital Pipeline, using our experitise to help to distribute computers to projects throughout Africa.
