Donate Computers

Turn Your Old Computers into New Opportunities- Digital Links offers a comprehensive and quality-assured IT disposal service to UK companies refurbishing computers for reuse in developing countries. More than 500 companies and organisations have improved ICT access by donating their redundant IT assets to Digital Links.

Our service provides a cost-effective and ethical means of meeting your IT disposal obligations. We work with professional asset management companies who undertake collection and refurbishment on our behalf. This allows prompt accommodation of large and multiple collections and ensures the highest standard of service, which includes:

  • Complete and secure deletion of data to MoD standard using specialist software
  • Assumption of all legal liabilities for donated equipment
  • Full audit trail with digital asset tracking
  • Full compliance with the WEEE Directive and Data Protection Act
  • 0% landfill policy & environmentally recycling of faulty units
  • Feedback, impact reports and PR tools highlighting the impacts of your donations

To keep the costs of collection low, we generally need a minimum of 50 items per collection (an item is a monitor or a base unit). If you fewer items, please check with your local council.

If you are interested in donating, please complete the form or call us on 02077856261.

Sponsor a Container

A full container of PCs costs very little and enables access to the benefits of information technology for thousands of underprivileged children and young adults. For example, Barclays Bank has helped develop sustainable computerisation programmes across East Africa and the Cadbury Foundation is funding a project to provide computer labs in cocoa-growing regions of Ghana.

Partner on a Specific Initiative

Supporting strategic initiatives is a fantastic way to help promote environmental excellence and be at the forefront of developments in education, health and environmental sustainability. You can select specific locations or sectors to support or Digital Links can select and outline a project for you.

For example, Digital Links is promoting initiatives to identify responsible end-of-life recycling regulations and strategies in Africa. Supporting these initiatives is a fantastic way to help promote environmental excellence and be at the forefront of developments in environmental sustainability. Cooperative Financial Services sponsored a project to develop an interim e-waste solution for end-of-life PCs in Kenya, to return non-reusable computer components to UK markets instead of going to land-fill.

Going forward Digital Links hopes to facilitate recycling solutions in Africa through capacity building; helping to establish sustainable and profitable recycling entrepreneurs.
