Aissatou Sow joined Digital Links in November 2008 from the Agency for Cooperation and Research in Development (ACORD UK) where she worked to promote partnership building and external relations. Additionally, Aissa has extensive experience in ICT for education having served as both Manager of Institutional Development and Partnerships and Chief Operating Officer with African Virtual University (AVU). Initially a World Bank funded project, AVU is an intergovernmental organization which aims to increase access to quality higher education at affordable costs and delivers several educational programs to African universities through the innovative use of modern ICTs and satellite delivery technology.

Aissa holds an MSc in Development Administration and Planning from the University College of London, a certificate in International Marketing from INSEAD Fontainebleau, a certificate in Macroeconomic Policy in Africa from the World Bank Institute/CERDI, and a B.A. in Management Science and Audit from the Institut Superieur de Management, Dakar, Senegal.

7906.jpgBronwen McConkey, Business Development Manager

Bronwen holds an MSc in Anthropology and Development from the London School of Economics. Her undergraduate studies at the University of British Columbia focused on Political Science and International Security studies. Bronwen previously worked for the Government of Canada in business development and client relations focused on alternative energies. She has lived, worked and travelled in West Africa and co-founded an educational support NGO in Ghana’s Volta Region.

Bronwen is responsible for Digital Links overseas operations. By working with our established distribution partners, as well as establishing new relationships where necessary, Bronwen is responsible for developing and running computerization programs and corporate funded projects. Bronwen manages relations with DL distribution partners in Africa in tandem with new relationship and project development and also manages DL fundraising initiatives.

 

Ben Newsom, Logistics Coordinator

Ben started at Digital Links in July 2009, having worked in a range of small businesses and enterprises, most recently Airport Transfer Services, an internet-based transport provider, where Ben managed business development and supplier accounts. Prior to joining Digital Links, Ben completed a 5 month internship in the New Economics and Trade team at Friends of the Earth.

Ben is responsible for the collection of and reporting on donations of equipment in the UK, as well as the delivery of orders to distribution partners in Africa. Having studied Environmental and Development Economics as part of his BSc in Economics at University College London, Ben is able to use his knowledge of sustainable development issues with his practical experience of logistics and relationship management working in the team.
