Refurb
Digital Links works with professional asset management companies who individually track, test, data-wipe and refurbish equipment for reuse.
Once your equipment has arrived at the warehouse, our refurbishment partners will asset tag, itemize, test and data-wipe your donated items. Data is removed from hard drives using Blancco Data Cleaner v4.5HMG, approved at both Baseline and Enhanced Overwriting Standards. Blancco Data Cleaner v4.5HMG is approved for UK government enhanced overwriting use. A certificate of compliance is available upon request for every machine that is data wiped through Digital Links. This process encourages re-use and is of environmental benefit. All items that are not suitable for re-use are environmentally recycled.
Within 1 month of your donation, Digital Links will email you an asset report. This report will detail every item donated, its unique data cleansing certificate (in the form of a Blancco generated data-wiping code) or the waste transit number (WTN – outlining the process and load number for environmental recycling). At the same time you will receive an invoice. While costs per item are provided prior to collection, the overall amount invoiced is dependent on the refurbishers’ assessment of the equipment .Digital Links does not charge for either the collection or the cost of data-wiping and refurbishing equipment for reuse. However the cost incurred for environmental disposal of non-working or below spec items will be passed on to the donor
Digital Links is also able to provide you with a number of different impact reports and PR documents. We offer links to information sheets for schools (primary and secondary level), certificates detailing how many Kgs of waste your donation has diverted from landfill and the estimated number of children your donation will benefit. We can also provide more detailed reports on current projects as well as information on our distribution partners and upcoming activities when required.
